This morning we woke to the phone ringing around 4:15. It was Maria letting us talk to sweet little Monica. It was such a blessing to hear her voice. She said "Seven sleeps til you come?" Yes sweet little one...really it's six more sleeps! The days are going by faster now and the emotions are a bit overwhelming at times, but it is great!

We have confirmed our reservations for our hotel. Packaged and repacked and packed again. Checked the flight loads...things are looking a bit full, Please pray with us that we get on the flight! (We are flying standby, some of you might think this is a bit crazy BUT it's the only way both of us could afford to go SO we give it ALL to Him!)

Yesterday I called and made Monica's first medical appointment. Now that was surreal. "Hello, I would like to make an appointment for my daughter. We will be arriving home sometime within the first week of May so anything after that will be fine..." Amazing! It is so humbling to feel and live past the adoption process. The dreams are becoming reality.

We have turned the page and begun a new chapter! This one is going to be filled with God's fingerprints ALL over it! We are flying to AFRICA, my husband will meet his daughter for the very first time, we will travel to the village where she was born, we will ALL three fly home (standby), she will come home to meet her sister and brother! Oh Happy Day! Happy Day!

Thank you Jesus! 10,000 times, we thank you for choosing us to walk this journey! Thank you for blessing us with your children! Thank you for believing in us when we are not strong enough to believe in our selves! We praise you and lift ALL the glory up to YOU!

oh lisa - so happy for you! do you already have things to give out at the village? some things that were BIG hits for us were bubbles, toothbrushes (just from the $ store) little candies, umbrellas for his family and the chiefs wives....
praying for you and for flying standby... oh goodness - God is in control of all that!
love you!
Yea!
I'm so glad you will be traveling to her village. That was the BEST part of our trip ... getting to see where our children really came from.
Way to go ... trusting God for standby tickets. Woohoo! Praying for you!
hugs!

Praise Jesus. I am just so happy for you.
We got Ava's insurance card in the mail the other day. It is really weird to have a card (and pay for the coverage) for our daughter whom we've NEVER met! I love it...
Do you guys need anything to take for the care center? We have about a million croc-like shoes and inside those space bags they take hardly any space and weigh nothing. Really - since we're not sure when we'll be going, if it is something that would be useful for the center please let me know. Or if there is anything else you need.
And I must hear about this stand-by flying... (I'm a little afraid of flying so I really have no idea). How does it work - and even better, save money?
Praying every day that things continue to move forward and that you are all back home SOON!
Christall
