Things are going great with Monica. Her transition has gone really well. She is a great sleeper, good eater (willing to try anything we do more than once), and full of joy! The weather is getting nicer here so we have found ourselves at the park quite a bit and she loves it! We have already begun a bit of a schedule with school work, she thinks that is great! She really enjoys reading and writing so really my biggest struggle is making sure I have enough material for her!
We have had a few moments of emotion but they were resolved pretty quick. She has been disappointed that she hasn't had more time to play with some of her friends that are here in the US, some even here in WA from Beacon House. ( I knew this one would be a struggle for her...) And she has been disappointed that she doesn't see Dad as much. (John was hired on to a new job the Monday we got home so things have been crazy for him!) His new schedule is 4 ten's so she gets to see him more on the weekends which is nice. He spent lots of time with her this weekend so she is happy.
I think our biggest struggle is going to be that Monica doesn't attach too much to our oldest daughter. That has been the biggest flag for us. She is a very loving and nurturing person and they share a room, so we have to be aware and parent accordingly.
We are definitely still in the homecoming fog ... I still do check on her and make sure this isn't just a dream! It sure feels like one!

We are STUCK in Ghana with a LOST passport (in the Ghana passport office). Oh my!
I will be praying for the bonding with big sis. Thanks for the honesty on your blog ... adopting isn't easy, but it is a JOY.
